DO NOT WASTE your TIME, MONEY, and EDUCATION here. I'm currently working as a nurse for 2 years with experience in hospital and nursing home and had received CNA training here in the past. This is the most unprofessional, incompetent, and unqualified training place compared to settings of community colleges and the private one in Aurora, Shoreline. A SHAME they even consider themselves trainers. They need to be investigated for their professionalism and even integrity of how they train students. Highlights of this facility in Des Moines: ONLY CARE ABOUT $$$ and LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM. -Very nice and say "have a good day" at the end of first day or two when students when students are leaving classes. -NEGATIVE AND NON-CARING attitude starting the 3rd or 4th date when students cannot get any refund back per their policy. Not acknowledging any of the students' concerns and I-do-not-care-of-any-of-your-complaint EVER, once you cannot get any refund from the course, which is about the 3rd or 4th day of class when you have no other choice but to stay otherwise you’d lose all of your tuition if dropping from the course. INABILITY TO TEACH, lirature and skills: • “PRETEND” as the majority method of how they want students to do when they teach CNA skills (e.g. for skills of bedbath, washing feet, brushing teeth, putting clothes/gown on…). The instructor, also the owner, only let students VERBALLY say it while NOT WANTING STUDENTS to actually use real water, soap, washcloths when students practice the above skills to save their bill on water +electricity washing the towels, washcloths, or gowns…even though you are entitled to REAL practice. IF YOU PAY FOR THE PROGRAM, YOU DESERVE at least THE STANDARD AND REAL TRAINING. This place offers minimal and substandard instruction. • Teaching style is mostly just they read out of textbook with minimal to no handout while teaching. Similar to an online classes when students are to do their own theory learning with not additional or minimal teaching from instructor • The instructor is an RN herself (named M.?) but she is less knowledgeable (on the scale of 0 to 10, she is about 3/10-would give 0/10 too) than any RN in any clinical setting of nursing home or hospital. This is in comparison to the instructors (who are LPNs) training CNA @South Seattle Community College (graded 9-10/10 for their compassion, preparation, up-to-date clinical skills, and accuracy).  I’d be straight out refuse her or her son if they ever care for me/loved ones. I’d refuse to have such people be my colleagues About 95% of students taking the course at the same time had complaint to each others about this training facility.
